Buenos Aires, November 19 (NA) – A 29-year-old man has been remanded in custody accused of threatening his mother with a knife in the city of Santa Fe.
According to information disseminated by the portal of the local Ministry of Public Prosecution, accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the suspect, identified only by the initials BLV, would have intimidated his mother with a Tramontina-type knife at a family home on August 16.
Prosecutor Milagros Parodi explained that the suspect "prevented" the victim from "the free exercise of her actions" by intimidating her, while the woman alerted 911 and the Police attended the scene, where the alleged aggressor resisted, attempted to flee and attacked the officers.
However, on November 7, he went to the residence again and threatened the victim with a stick and a bladed weapon.
In this regard, the judicial official emphasized that the accused had violated a restraining order that prohibited him from approaching within 500 meters.
Parodi requested a preventive prison order, and the Preparatory Criminal Investigation (IPP) Judge, Pablo Spekuljak, accepted the request, so the young man will remain under arrest.
